Runtown beats Patoranking, Tekno, and Mr. Eazi to win African artiste of the year

If you have noticed, Runtown is actually one Nigerian singer with an immense talent that is capable of turning the world around. It is no news that Runtown played a huge role in Davido’s award-winning single, “AYE.” Also, Runtown’s latest hit single, “Mad Over You,” became the number one African song before Davido’s “IF” came on board and knocked it off that position. But then, Runtown is yet to be considered an A-List artiste, even when he has all it takes to be so.

It appears like the singer is more concerned about dropping hit songs for his fans than worry himself about all the image and personality show. However, good things will always come to those who deserve good. Being in the habit of dropping hits, Runtown could not manage to elude being deemed as the African Artiste of the Year.

The singer was crowned the best “African Artiste of Year” at the 18th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, which held at the Accra International Conference Centre on the 8th of April. The singer beat fellow Nigerian singers, Patoranking, Mr. Eazi, Tekno, and Nathaniel Bassey to scoop the award. Big congrats to the “Mad Over You” crooner.
