If you didn’t catch all three and a half hours of the award ceremony, no problem! Here’s your chance to catch up.
The 2019 Oscars had no host for the first time in 30 years. Surprisingly, there wasn’t much of a difference – the ceremony was still full of jokes from the award presenters.
The show was also full of other firsts. Spike Lee won his first-ever Oscar for adapted screenplay for BlacKkKlansman (and literally jumped into L. Jackson’s arms with joy).
Regina King won her first Oscar for supporting actress in If Beale Street Could
Talk (and Chris Evans impulsively helped her onstage, prompting women to fall even more in ~love~ with him).

On the other hand, the show had plenty of upsets. Lady Gaga, the fan-favorite star of A Star Is Born, lost the award for
best actress to Olivia Colman of The Favourite. So did Glenn Close, who was hoping for her first-ever Oscar after seven nominations.

Meanwhile, people on social media
simply CANNOT believe who won best picture.

Hint: It was not Black Panther or
A Star Is Born.
The show was also stacked with impressive performances, but honestly? All people can talk about is Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s electrifying duet, which was so good that they didn’t even need the best picture award.
