Game of Thrones season 8: The Night King invaded Westeros and is said to be travelling South
GAME OF THRONES viewers are gearing up for the explosive Battle of Winterfell, which will see Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen’s armies take on the White Walkers. But the long-awaited showdown might not be all that it seems.
Game of Thrones devotees are nothing if not attentive and have gone through the new opening credits of the current series with a thin tooth comb.
The scouring has led one fan of the HBO fantasy drama to come to the interesting conclusion that the Night King (played by Vladimir Furdik) has no intention of fighting in the Battle of Winterfell.
For those who may not have realised, the new and improved title sequence showed a barrel of ice ripping through the Last Hearth.
It has since been revealed the land was brought to dust by the army of the dead and now the zombified hold the zone
ow, one eagled-eyed viewer has suggested the same could happen to King’s Landing, where the queen of mean, Ceresi Lannister (Lena Headey) resides.
According to Reddit user Jeetermeat there are moments in the Game of Thrones intro, which proves the Night King is heading South.
At around the 0.16 mark, the camera movement spirals around the Last Hearth on the map of Westeros before descending to ground level.
Then, at the 1.13 mark the camera tilts down and moves into King’s Landing, travelling towards a tower after a spiral staircase.
he spiral movement is supposed to signify the White Walker’s spiral symbol, which initially appeared in the season one premiere, before reappearing in the current series.
With the spiral movement occurring over the Last Heath and King’s Landing, Jeetermeat has made the assumption the Night King is heading to King’s Landing next and not Winterfell, as most would like to believe.
