Meghan Markle Made An Unexpected Trip To New York For Her Baby Shower With Her Closest Friends

Meghan Markle is

celebrating her baby shower in New

 York today!

The Duchess of Sussex recently arrived in New York City for a fun girls’ trip.
The highlight of the trip, though, is her Tuesday baby shower with all of her closest gal pals.
“Today’s baby shower is a reunion of sorts for Meghan,” royal correspondent Omid Scobie told Good Morning America. “[Guests] include best pal Jessica Mulroney, actress and close pal Abigail Spencer has flown in and Priyanka Chopra is supposed to be flying in especially for this from London Fashion Week.”
Meanwhile, employees have been loading up the venue with early gifts, pink roses, and other decorations.
The baby shower will take place at a hotel on the Upper East Side.
It’s just the first of two baby showers for Meghan. The second one will take place back in the UK later. This one, though, is for Meghan’s best buds only.
“It’ll be a celebration with her closest friends,” Omid said.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are currently expecting their first baby. They announcedthe pregnancy back in October, and people have been thirsty for any bit of news about Baby Sussex ever since.
With just a couple months left before Meghan’s due date, the duchess is having a baby shower in New York on February 19. Elle dished on all of the details about the celebration.

First of all, 15 guests will reportedly attend the shower, including all of Meghan’s closest gal pals.
“Today’s baby shower is a reunion of sorts for Meghan,” royal correspondent Omid Scobie told Good Morning America.
Meghan’s best friend, Jessica Mulroney, will be there. Jessica’s children were page boys and a flower girl at Meghan and Harry’s wedding in 2018.

Close friend and former Suits costar, Abigail Spencer, will also be at the shower, along with Priyanka Chopra.
“Priyanka Chopra is supposed to be flying in especially for this from London Fashion Week,” Omid said.

Another close pal, designer Misha Nonoo, is also on the guest list.

Jessica Mulroney reportedly organized the whole shower for Meghan, as BFFs often do. The shower will take place at a hotel on the Upper East Side; workers could be seen loading up the facilities with flowers and other decorations.

The royal family has been pretty hush-hush about the details of Meghan’s pregnancy. So naturally, people were keeping a very closeeye on the baby shower for any clues about Baby Sussex.

Abigail Spencer, for example, arrived with a gift bag lined with blue tissue paper, leading fans to believe that Meghan is likely having a boy.
However, the baby shower was also filled with hundreds of pink roses, so… who can really say?!

The very first gift to arrive was a three-in-one crib from Babyletto. It converts from a crib to a toddler bed to a daybed.

This week was chosen for the baby shower because it’s the last time that Meghan can safely travel before the baby is born. She has an official royal trip to Morocco this weekend.

Also, this is just the first of two baby showers for the Duchess of Sussex. She’ll have a second shower in the UK after she returns from Morocco.

Meghan spent the rest of her time in New York “catching up with some of her closest friends, visiting favorite spots in the city and even shopping for baby clothes,” Omid said.
She and her pals enjoyed macarons and tea in SoHo on Saturday. The royal was spotted shopping at a high-end children’s clothing store nearby afterward.

Meghan recently revealed that her due date is in April. She and Harry will soon move into their new larger home in preparation for the baby.
It’s such an exciting time for the royal couple!
